Have you ever heard someone make the statement ” It doesn’t matter if you vote because they already have the person chosen.” ? Maybe you have watched a YouTube video that went into an elaborate explanation about why you shouldn’t waste your time on the election process? Like many other people across the world our trust in the electoral process has been tainted due to the correction that we have seen. Depending on where you live you may have more or less faith. Throughout history we have seen outright battles over elections. We’ve seen dictators steal elections and usurp power. One thing is for sure those who hold seats in the halls of government have power, sometimes unlimited. Why would people who are already millionaires pour their personal money into an election to win an office that pays less than what they make in profits? It’s obvious that these positions hold access to information and influence that the average citizen does not. These last 4 years in America we have seen corruption manifested in ways that we have never seen before. The lust for power has not only brought the worst in people out but it has awakened those who did not understand the allure of politics to those who understand its perks. If you are one of those people who does not understand how this system that we are affected by works I encourage you to learn about it. In this day and age it is so much easier to learn because of the power of technology. Even if you can’t read you can learn about the process, YOUTUBE IS YOUR FRIEND! We need more honest and competent people sitting filling seats in government positions. We need individuals who want to serve others. Politics affect everyone even especially those who don’t understand how they work. That’s our 2 cents on the subject! Follow us on all social media at @MrOpenyonated. Radicalism for Some Silence for Others
A new age of being radical is here! Living in the land of America pretty much ensures you that you can say just about anything you want as long as you have the following and don’t mind enduring #Cancelculture. We have seen people brazenly tell U.S. citizens to go somewhere else if they don’t like it here. We have seen people mowed down by vehicles while exercising their rights by protesting. We have seen the President of the United States tell domestic terrorist to standby. We have seen people attacked for speaking Spanish and the list goes on and on. In addition to many of these disturbing actions we have seen individuals allow themselves to be associated with some pretty dangerous people. We live in an age where some politicians will not renounce the actions of the KKK. They will not condemn the acts of a dangerous mob but instead say “They are good people.” Pretty much everything is fair game as long as you of a particular background which has always been the case in America, especially politics. When Barack Obama was running for president he distanced himself from his Pastor Jeremiah Wright after he made remarks suggesting that HIV was created by the government as a means of genocide against minorities. He didn’t only distance himself, he called his Pastor a distraction. The rules are different for those of African descent and other people of color in the United States. We have to smile and grin more than everyone else, we need to take stronger stands on certain issues we must do triple of what everyone else does when it comes to winning a public office. We simply do not have the privilege to say what we want without risk of losing it all and having the full fury of American institutions turned against us even though we are just as American as anyone else. The blood of our ancestors watered the soil of this country in its early days. What does all of this really mean? Should we not speak up in instances of injustice or for fear of being “Black Balled” and cancelled? We already know what the deal is here even if we have not personally experienced it, our ancestors have. I encourage those who have the heart to speak up to continue to do so. We must build our own infrastructures and systems so we are not shut down. We must protect ourselves knowing that we will not be protected especially when being outspoken. Don’t let the fear of persecution stop you from being the voice of those who don’t have the courage to speak! That’s our 2 cents on the matter! Happy New New Year

Things Black Men Were Taught Podcast Series
Mr. Openyonated has officially entered the podcasting world! About a year ago via a social media post I had a discussion about all of the things that Black men have been taught growing up. So many people shared lessons that they either were taught or heard I thought it would be a great idea to take things a bit further. The “Things That Black Men Were Taught” series will examine lessons and advice that has been shared with Black men to help them survive and navigate the world.
