The importance of producing heirs

Producing heirs is a CRUCIAL part of being a king! When there are no heirs to the throne the kingdom  can go up for grabs!  We must get back to the business of training our children up in the right way. We need wise men and women but especially men training our young men.  Not just any training will do it must be one rooted in wisdom, honor, and courage. Proverbs 22:6 states “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Many of our young people are not being trained up properly and as a result they will not have effective kingdoms in the future.  Last year I was part of The Brotherhood of Men training and one of the foundations state that A man will reject passivity, lead courageously, accept responsibility and look to God for the greater reward. These are things each king to be should be endowed with. This was a fantastic opportunity where I received training and was able to fellowship with other men.  What goes into training an heir up properly? What does a young king to be need to know in order to run a successful kingdom? Are the men in your family in positions to prepare future generations to reign? Let us start today putting the pieces together in our families so that our children reign with honor!

Stay tuned as we continue our year of the king where we will strive to highlight those who are reigning and empower those who desire to!

Let them talk!

Travel through your 2013 without worrying about what people think about you, it’s frustrating, crippling and limits progress. Many of my students become frustrated when one of their classmates talk about them I tell them that it’s all a part of life and people won’t stop talking about them. I tell them that as you get older people still talk.   I tell them people have talked about me all my life including family members who don’t think I know about it *smile* as well as those who you consider friends and of course strangers but you have to keep making progress. Decide today that no ones opinion but God matters and go out and do what God has put you here to do. What advice would you give to people who are crippled by talk and gossip? We’d love for you to throw in your 2 cents!

What happens when the king takes off his crown?

What happens when a leader steps down? What happens when a king relinquishes his power and takes off his crown?   The answer to that question would depend on whether his kingdom was in order or not.  Did he have successor that was up for the task? Many families, and communities lay in ruins! Their roads are destroyed, their people turned into peasants and living in despair simply because the king has gone. I am the type of person who has no problem with stepping to a challenge. I don’t cower when my opposition rises but I have become tired and over burdened before when I was carrying too much of a load and for a while I took my crown off. I refused to assist anyone and I did nothing to further the advancement of my kingdom. We have many kings among us who are not wearing their crowns. They are not conquering anything, they are not building up the people who they are charged to look over, they have taken off their crowns. When the king takes off his crown the nation suffers! When the king takes off his crown his kingdom is not extended. When a king takes off his crown no conquests are made. When a king takes off his crown young princes aren’t trained to take the place of the king. Do you know of any kings that have taken their crowns off? How can you encourage them to return to their rightful places of power?

Help him connect to his inner king!

There are a lot of broken men in this world.  Many have been neglected, abandoned, ill advised, etc.  What does the broken man do when he needs help? Unfortunately a lot of men turn to alcohol, drugs, sex as a means to soothe their problems as opposed to dealing with them in fact, they wallow in these desensitizers.  It is not socially acceptable for men to declare “I need help!” Many see the man who admits his problems as weak. There are even those who encourage men to be open and honest but when he doe they treat him a different way. If you add the negative perception that most men have especially men of color it is a very difficult world for him to live in.  Man is like a puzzle inside of the box, if you put the puzzle together everyone including the puzzle is happy.  A physically, spiritually, and mentally man is beneficial to everyone that surrounds him.  There are those who because of being hurt by men in their past engage in male bashing,  there are also those who have been taught to overrun the men who they are in relationships with. These type of people are not healthy for a man aspiring to the king that he needs to be. How can you help the men in your life connect to their inner kings? First you must speak honor into his life starting from a young age. Let the young men that you are raising or around know just what an important part they play in your life and society as a whole. Let the older men in your life know what they mean to you and what joy you receive from feeling confident in their leadership. Secondly do not engage in male bashing especially with the men in your immediate circle. If the man/men in your life is not reigning try to assist him to do so. For example, if he is out of work encourage and assist him in not only looking for work but how he can sustain himself with the work of his hands. Thirdly, help him do what kings do! Kings are known for conquering help him conquer some of his goals. Is there a dragon that is threatening his kingdom? Put on the royal armor and grab a sword and help him vanquish it!  Kings expand their territory. What acquisition is your man eyeing? How can you assist him in doing so? Finally encourage him to share his feelings and listen to him without judgement. If he let’s you into his heart and shares some of his weaknesses help him to strengthen himself don’t use it against him especially in an argument  it will only cause him to not trust you with his heart in the future. Let’s support the men in building themselves up so that they can reign!
